Saint Matthias Celebrates Catholic Schools Week and the Great Kindness Challenge

Catholic Schools Week is always an exciting time for the Saint Matthias Community!  Join us for one of our many events this week to celebrate our school and all the joys of Catholic Education!  Due to the blizzard, we are also celebrating the Week of Kindness this week. Throughout the week, students will be recording their acts of kindness to create a chain of kindness.


Monday–  Penny Wars Starts!  Classes bring in change and the pair of classes with the highest total wins a free dress down day later this month.

Tuesday– Mass 9:30am all are welcome!  Students are invited to dress in “Sunday Best” or their school uniform for this day.Mass-Catholic-School-CSW16-Bowie-Largo-DCWednesday– Open House 9:00-11:00am.  Invite friends and family with prospective students to come by and see the Saint Matthias difference.

Thursday– Student Appreciation Day!  Free dress-down (TAG) day for students.  H.S.A. Sponsors free pizza lunch for students.  Academic Expo 6-8pm.

Friday– Teacher Appreciation Day!  Half Day- no ESP.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2016-2017 school year. There is a great deal of interest in the new two-way Spanish English Immersion program, so families are asked to apply early to ensure a spot. Questions?  Please contact Mrs. Richards at
