Fun-d Run Update

The St. Matthias 4th Annual Fun-d Run was our most successful ever. We have raised $18,262, so far and donations are still coming in. Currently, 78% of the students have participated as well as 55% of the staff. Grades 2, 3 and 5 had 100% participation. They will have a free dress day on Tuesday, Octo- ber 19 as well as extra recess and ice cream at lunch. We will have the final report in next week’s Bridges.

Congratulations to our top runners: Paris Esene and Queen Mukom (K), Tyquan Tatum (Gr. 1), Folefac Khumbah (Gr. 2), Rayminelle Atemafac (Gr. 3), Jordan Esene (Gr. 4), Sydney Esene and Michael Morfaw (Gr. 5), Quinton Fonge (Gr. 6), Peter Henry (Gr. 7), and Muma Ndi (Gr. 8). The top 3 runners were Peter Henry with 42 laps, Muma Ndi with 36 laps and Jordan Esene with 33 laps. A huge debt of gratitude goes to our committee chairs, Mrs. Emma Hadley (gr 3) and Mrs. Hilary VanWagenen (gr 7) and to the many parent volunteers who helped set up, donated fruit and water and cheered on our runners! Thanks to Mrs. Ingrid Johnson (Pk4) for providing music and warm- up inspiration and to Mrs. Abi Siyanbade, RN (gr 1), for providing first aid.
