Michelle Dunn is currently the resource teacher and has worked in the field of education for over 25 years. She has a varied background which led her to support virtual education for nearly two decades. Since 2017, she has worked in three ADW schools as their resource teacher. Her teaching approach is a collaborative model that includes pushing into the classroom as much as possible to provide intervention and assistance. She is passionate about teaching students who struggle with reading how to break the reading code and is a certified Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist. In the afternoons and evenings, she virtually tutors students using the Orton-Gillingham Approach. When not teaching, she loves to bird and is an active citizen scientist for Patuxent River Park, The Maryland & DC Breeding Bird Atlas -3, NestWatch, and FeederWatch. She also keeps active by biking, dancing, hiking, and kayaking.
